You, Me & Tuscany, Lorenzo de Moor Interview

"One of the things I love about Anna's journey is that she starts in a place of deep loss and confusion, and she has this impulsive idea to go to Italy to find some connection to her mother. And it's messy and it's complicated, and she makes mistakes, but that's what makes it so real. Working with Hallie was incredible because she brings this vulnerability and this strength to Anna that is just so captivating.

You really feel for her and you want her to succeed, even when she's making questionable choices. The chemistry between Hallie and Regé was there from the beginning. They have such different energies Anna is this whirlwind of emotion and Michael is so steady and grounded and watching them find common ground and eventually fall for each other was one of the highlights of filming. Italy itself is such a huge part of the movie.

The landscapes, the light, the food it all adds this layer of magic and romance that you just can't get anywhere else. We wanted to capture the authentic feel of Tuscany, not just the touristy version, and I think we really achieved that. It was important to me to show a side of Italy that felt lived-in and real, and having Will Packer's perspective was invaluable in making sure we were telling a story that felt fresh and inclusive. This movie is ultimately about love in all its forms love for family, love for a partner, and most importantly, learning to love yourself and follow your own path."
