Do Not Enter, Kai Caster Interview
The statements of Kai Caster
"Yeah, no, I think that uh I think he's a loose cannon and I think that uh there's a lot of things you won't expect coming from him, um, but, you know, he's kind of figuring it out like everybody else. I think this whole film deals with a lot of what fame and and wealth can do to a person and I think that uh JD's figuring that out through the whole film.
Yeah, no, I I hadn't read it beforehand, but once I did I was a big fan. So I, you know, before I committed to the project, I got to read a lot of it and and see a lot of it. And I think it's just a really great classic urban explorer film that I've never personally done before, um, so that's one of the big things that drew me to it was really just that whole classic urban explorer mystery thriller and action mixed together. Um, I think that's something super fun to play and especially with a great ensemble, um, that can be so fun and, you know, we're all kind of similar ages and it was just a blast filming it and I knew it would be just I'd never really done a film where you'd have like a big group of people all around the same age kind of just getting through a film together. And uh I think we had just a blast doing it. So that's what really drew me to it I think for sure.
Yeah, I mean, it was great. I think Mark's uh resume speaks for itself in terms of all of the music videos he's directed. Um, he's just cinematically he's perfect, like he really knows how to capture, you know, film. Um, I think that's his strong suit is he is really, really good with cinematography and Jan as well was just amazing. I think they're a dream team. And so I think they're you're really going to be excited to see just how that plays out. Like I think it just perfectly captures that darkness and that edginess that it has I think is perfectly captured and he did a great job with that.
There is so much especially with the like I said the ensemble of it you get to really learn about all these different characters that are all going for the same thing. And I think that's always fun to to see but especially in a theater when you're going into this darker eerie sort of, you know, environment, it's always better to see in the theater. I mean most movies I think are better to see in the theater, but I think especially with this one when you go into that darkness and you're in that big screen and that dark room, it just adds to it and and you're really going to feel it I think. Yeah. Yeah."
