'I opened my eyes to the horror of the animal agricultural industry': interview with actress Wendy Morgan
What aspect did you discover that upset you the most?
It's all upsetting. It comes in waves what I think about. Either the living conditions prior to slaughter. The slaughter process itself. The teeth clipping. The tail docking. The castration – all without pain relief. The way individuals are treated en masse. Too shocking to take in really. All animals – dairy being too awful with the babies taken from their mothers soon after birth. Too awful. Chickens the way they are housed en masse in dark sheds… and the transportation of animals starved for hours and crammed tight and the effect of all this on the planet; on humans with potential pandemics. I’m sorry I can’t think of one thing… it is all one big bad thing.
