Screwdriver is the film in theaters. The cast includes AnnaClare Hicks (the Tv seris Growing Apart), Charlie Farrell (American Crime Story), Milly Sanders (Karen), Matt Munroe (Full Tilt Boogie). The director is Cairo Smith.

The film 'Screwdriver' is about what can happen after a divorce. Why did you choose this theme?

I don’t think the film is explicitly a reflection on divorce. I think divorce is an emergent outcome from a relationship failing, and oftentimes divorce is a stronger choice for the parties involved than staying together at that point. That said, I have been around a lot of divorce in my life, and witnessed many successful and failing relationships throughout my childhood and adulthood. It’s something that for decades was surging in the United States, and now is starting to precipitously decline — in part because people aren’t getting married in the first place. What that new era means for American relationships and marriages is definitely one subject of the film, and something I find worth exploring.
