From her first album, *Inalcanzable*, recorded in the early 2000s, to her debut as Esmeralda in *Notre Dame de Paris*, which brought her to the attention of Italian and international fans, to her victory at the 2008 Sanremo Festival with Giò Di Tonno, Lola Ponce has proven herself to be a versatile and accomplished artist. Who is Lola Ponce today, both as an artist and as a woman? What does she love most about her profession?

Thank you… it’s nice to hear you call me a complete artist, because it truly is my passion and I have worked so hard for it.

Today, I am also a complete woman, happy, in harmony with everything I dreamed of and continue to dream about…

Being a mother is my priority, my family—fortunately, we are a family of artists, so we have a lot of fun together and always have different projects.

Artistically, I feel halfway there; there are still so many things I want to explore and turn into something magical—musically, in theater, and in cinema.

I feel I am at the peak of my strength, curiosity, and awareness.

In 2025, she released a new album, *Il soffio dell'anima* (The Breath of the Soul), and previewed two tracks: "Stella cadente" (Falling Star) and "Anima importante" (Important Soul). The latter was also presented at the Taormina Film Festival, where it received applause from a packed Teatro Antico. These songs reveal her passion for life and feelings. What does "Il soffio dell'anima" mean to Lola Ponce?

“Il soffio dell’Anima” is an invitation to give importance to our feelings, to our soul, rightly so. That is something no AI will ever be able to take from us or copy. Our soul is our reality; I believe in eternal life, but it is found in our soul, not in superficial things or the external.

The lyrics of "Stelle cadenti" are poetic and are sung with grace and intensity. One of the lines she sings is perhaps emblematic: "We are shooting stars, born to leave our mark in the midst of this dull sky!" What mark does Lola Ponce want to leave with her music or in her life?

The mark I always want to leave is that of love.

Of perseverance…

That positivity that always pushes you to make your dreams come true, not just waiting for someone to help you or do it for you… you have to do it yourself.

Also, because there are many obstacles, many good people but also jealous ones who will always want you to fall. But if what you are is substantial, if you have studied and are disciplined, no one can ever bring you down.

So, in summary, work to make your dreams come true, and you will always be happy along the way. Success and prestige will only be the consequence.

2025 will also mark her return to film with *Espina*, in which she stars alongside her husband, Aaron Diaz. Could you give us a preview of the plot? What will the film be about?

“Espina” is a wonderful film!

It is the first production for Condenast in Latin America.

It tells the story of Jonathan, an incredible boy who is an example of life, light, and joy.

The film is directed by Daniel Poler, a great director, and it is already collecting various successes at US festivals.

What is artistic and professional life like for a couple and family such as yours? You come from a family of musicians like your father and grandfather, who are of Italian origin. Artistic talent has always been present in your family. How do you balance your professional commitments, passion for music, and family life?

Wonderful, thank God, never boring. Always different destinies, and together we face all adventures with our little girls.

Yes, it is a great gift that I have received.

We do it with a lot of naturalness and love; there is no other way. We support each other. There is a lot of admiration between us. A lot of complicity.

Is there a funny anecdote from your career as an artist that you can share with your fans?

Yes! Many. The funniest ones always happen live, on stage…

When you forget a word and have to keep going…

It happened to me once that the music stopped and I had to keep singing. I ended up a cappella. There is always that connection with the audience. On stage, I am always myself. With strengths and flaws, I have a lot of fun, especially with the looks.

Can you share any of your upcoming projects, perhaps a new musical?

Many… I have been offered to do a musical film, something I have wanted for a long time.

I keep making albums, each different from the others… with important messages.

Soon I’ll be able to tell you more.

In the meantime, listen to all my new music on all digital platforms.
