"It's a beautiful, massive, intimate, funny, scary, moving experience. It's a story about what we can do when we work together. It's a story about a man who's lost and finds a friend in the most unlikely place. It's a story about how we're all connected. 

I play a scientist from China who's part of this international team that's trying to save the world. It's a big, beautiful, crazy collaboration. Ryan is a dream. He's so generous and so funny and so kind. He really treated me like a scene partner. We just had a ball. We found the character together. It was a really, really special experience. 

I think it's a story about how we're better together. It's a story about friendship and how, when things are at their most dire, the best thing we can do is reach out to someone who's different than us and find a way to communicate. It's a really hopeful, beautiful, funny movie. It's a total original. You've never seen anything like it. It's a massive sci-fi epic, but it's also a tiny, intimate buddy comedy. It's got everything."

Ken Leung plays Dr. Stratt's Assistant, who works closely with Eva Stratt during the preparation and coordination phases of the Hail Mary project on Earth. The character appears in flashbacks set before the mission's launch, contributing to the organizational and scientific efforts necessary to assemble the team and resources destined to save humanity.
