Jeremy Allen White talks about the role of Bruce Springsteen at the New York Film Festival
"Oh, it feels great. I mean, I love these people so much. We set out to do something very uh daunting and and difficult, and that's that's telling part of the story of that beautiful man. Um and uh, you know, we had his support. We had John's support, his manager. I love Scott, I love Jeremy, I love Odessa. I don't know, I'm feeling very lucky to be here.”
Gabby Hoffman talks about the role of Adele Springsteen at the New York Film Festival
"Um, well, it's actually like fairly calm and relaxed, surprisingly cool on the red carpet. Some nice like, I don't know, maturation has occurred on the press line since I was here last. Um, I'm just very excited cuz I have yet to see the movie. So, yes, and I'm very excited because I just realized that I am wearing an appropriate dress. I was like, oh, I'm not really rock and roll, but I just realized it's a Hungry Hearts dress. Many hearts, Hungry Hearts. And I'm really excited about it.
Well, being able to play anybody's mother, I think for them in real time with them there observing is a real honor and privilege. The fact that it was Bruce Springsteen is pretty cool. Um, it was honestly so beautiful. I really felt honored and like I was a part of some sort of gestalt psycho magical therapy for him, and I felt like it was a gift given to me to play this incredible woman that then I was able to give back to Bruce uh representing these moments from his childhood that I know were of course incredibly meaningful. So, it was an kind of unbelievable, magical, beautiful experience. Yeah."
Jeremy Strong talks about the role of Jon Landau at the New York Film Festival
"Well, you know, it's my city, so I love this festival. I've been here a few times. It's always incredible to be here with something. And, you know, being part of telling this story about Bruce is one of the great privileges of my life. So, I'm, I'm, uh, really happy to be here. You do a lot of work. Um, Jon Landau is a legendary person in the in the music business and wrote an essay in 1974 that said, 'I have seen rock and roll's future, and its name is Bruce Springsteen.' And that sort of altered the trajectory of Bruce's life. And John has been his producer, manager, partner, co-pilot for 50 years now. So, uh, you know, in a way, it's a love story between the two of them uh in this moment in Bruce's life when he made Nebraska. But, you know, it's one of the great joys of what I get to do is being a kind of experiential tourist in different worlds and having, you know, access granted to different worlds. And in this case, being granted access to Bruce's universe is just uh really incredible. Yeah."
