Discover the TV series 9-1-1: Nashville, airing on ABC
9-1-1: Nashville is the spin-off TV series of 9-1-1. The cast includes Chris O'Donnell as Captain Don Hart, a veteran firefighter who leads the Nashville fire station with his son Ryan, Jessica Capshaw as Don's wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and LeAnn Rimes.
How does the new season of 9-1-1 differ from previous seasons?
What's a little different about this 9-1-1: Nashville as opposed to the original, I think, is the the dynamic of the family relationships. Outside the firehouse, and the Hart family, and the Rolling family, there's a lot of drama. There's a lot, there's a lot going on there. A lot to unpack.
An important part of Nashville is music. How does it fit into the new season?
A big part of Nashville is obviously the music. 9-1-1: Nashville is going to take advantage of that. Right out of the gates, first episode, we've got a lot of a lot of music featured. A couple of our characters on the show are aspiring singers or former singers. So we're really trying to tap into that and take advantage of it. There's so much talent in this town, it's just unbelievable. That was one of the things that blew me away about Nashville was every corner, there's another restaurant, bar, you know, concert hall, and people playing live music everywhere you go. They even, they're playing live music at the airport. It's insane. So there's, there's a lot of talent and we're going to take advantage of that.
What was it like filming in Nashville?
Coming to Nashville and working on 9-1-1: Nashville has been a breath of fresh air for me. Uh, we had a tough year this past year in Los Angeles with all the fires. And interestingly, now I'm playing a firefighter. But Nashville's been terrific. I mean, people are incredibly welcoming. I love the energy here, it's a good vibe.
How were the emergency scenes filmed?
Part of the brand of 9-1-1 and certainly of 9-1-1: Nashville is these over-the-top spectacle emergencies. Um, and we're the ones that are called in to save the day. So to try and recreate these things, I, I always laugh when I see a new script come up because I'm like, "Oh, come on. Where did this come from? This is, there's no way". And 99% of the time they said, "No, no, that, that actually happened. That, that, that, there was a story". I'm like, "Wow, that's amazing". So to recreate it, make it as authentic as possible. From a technical standpoint, we always have tech advisors to make sure that the firefighters and medics are being as authentic as possible.
