Her Private Hell Plot: Serial Killer, Hotel and Dystopian Science Fiction

Her Private Hell is the crime and sci-fi movie in release. The plot is set in a futuristic metropolis, shrouded in a mysterious fog. The story interweaves multiple narrative lines, including a group of actresses who gather in a luxury hotel to shoot a science fiction movie similar to Barbarella, while a serial killer known as Leather Man spreads terror by killing young women.

Elle (Sophie Thatcher) is a tormented young woman searching for her father, and American soldier Private K (Charles Melton) is engaged in a desperate odyssey to save his daughter.

Her Private Hell Cast: Sophie Thatcher, Charles Melton and Kristine Froseth

Sophie Thatcher is known for the TV series Yellowjackets, and recently acted in the movie Companion; Charles Melton acted in May December and Warfare, and in the second season of Beef.

The cast also includes Kristine Froseth, known for roles in The Society and Looking for Alaska; Dougray Scott, already seen in Mission: Impossible II and Babylon.

Nicolas Winding Refn Returns to Cinema with Her Private Hell

The direction is by Nicolas Winding Refn, who directed The Neon Demon, Too Old to Die Young, Copenhagen Cowboy, Only God Forgives and Drive, both with Ryan Gosling.

"When all the politicians have ruined the world, blown up countries and stolen our money, the only thing that remains is art - he said after the screening - The only thing that unites us is going to the cinema, sitting together and watching a movie".

The director referenced his near-death experience, having been declared clinically dead for 25 minutes due to heart surgery: "Now that I'm alive again, I only have 25 years of life to live. But I will use them to the fullest to live life to the fullest".

Her Private Hell Production, Locations and Release Date

The production is by Neon and byNWR. Filming took place in Tokyo and Copenhagen from May to July 2025, and the movie releases in United States theaters on July 24, 2026.
