Ella McCay, Jamie Lee Curtis Interview

 I love it here and I love that New York it's it's it's really important here at this museum with Jim Brooks and it's you know, he also lives here part-time and so I wanted to represent the New York crowd.

The movie's light as air. Like you watch the movie and it's like a soufflé. And I I can't believe it 'cause it you know, it was in the winter in Providence and you know, small, tight, intense kind of filmmaking and yet the movie feels like a beach ball, a comic beach ball. It's fabulous.

You know what? It was instantaneous with Emma Mackey. I met her at Jim's house. We were introduced. She was leaving to go film something else the next day and we weren't going to see each other again until Providence. And there was an immediacy to it. The part is written so beautifully. I'm a compassionate human. I have children. Um, I'm a cheerleader by human nature. I love watching others lift and take lift off and watch it. So, the part's written so well that it was just a really easy Emma and I just were fast friends.

I want something that's going to touch me, but make me laugh that will talk about afterwards. I want something I can relate to 'cause to me that's what movies really do for me is they put me in the world of other people and then go, "Oh, well, wow." So, that's what I love about a Jim Brook- it's a Jim Brooks movie and it feels like one.
