Interview with actor of movie Joker, Josh Pais
Recent films of Josh Pais include Joker with Joaquin Phoenix, Motherless Brooklyn directed by Edward Norton and Nicole Holofcener's Land of Steady Habits.
In the film Joker you play Hoyt Vaughn, the boss of Arthur Fleck. Hoyt Vaughn appears to be an available person, but then fires him. Do you consider his gesture justified?
Great question. Hoyt really likes Arthur. When Arthur looses the sign - it’s just another screw up that this talent agent has to deal with. Then when Arthur brings a gun to the children’s hospital - it’s the final straw. Hoyt’s business is struggling as it is - so he sees Arthur as starting to hurt his bottom line. In that regard - yes he is justified.
