Interview with author Glenn Cooper: The Cure is the new novel
The Cure is a thriller novel.
Glenn Cooper is an American author and physician. He's an internationally best selling thriller writer. His books have been translated into 31 languages and, as of 2014, have sold over six million copies. His debut novel, "The Library of the Dead", the first in a trilogy, became an international bestseller and was translated into thirty-one languages. All of his seven published books have become top-ten international bestsellers. The Curne is the new novel.
Your novel The Cure tells the story of an epidemic affecting the planet. The characters cling to the survival instinct rather than the rules: why is that?
The pandemic in my book is much worse than our coronavirus pandemic. A medical experiment to treat Alzheimer’s Disease goes horribly wrong and a new virus is unleashed that wipes out the memory of infected people leaving them lost and vulnerable. It doesn’t take long for society to fall apart—no functional governments, no electricity, no long-distance communications. In this disaster scenario, conventional rules no longer matter. Survival is in your own hands.
