Interview with entertainment and media entrepreneur Larry Namer
Larry Namer is E! Founder, President/CEO of Metan Global Entertainment Group
Larry Namer is a founding partner of Metan Global Entertainment Group (MGEG), a venture created to develop and distribute entertainment content and media specifically for Chinese speaking audiences in China and abroad. Mr. Namer is the co-founder of E! Entertainment Television, a company now valued at over four billion USD, and the creator of several successful companies in the United States and overseas.
You founded with Alan Mruvka E! . How did the idea come about?
Alan and I were thinking about the common theme we kept hearing to describe cable television programming. “Cable TV is like an electronic newspaper, CNN is the headlines, ESPN is the sports page, etc." It was clear to us that what was missing was the second most read newspaper section, which was the entertainment pages. We set out to create that with E!.
