The Lottery, the plot

The Lottery is a comedy and thriller movie in production. The plot tells of five childhood friends, now strangers, who reunite in a remote mountain cabin for one last weekend together.

Between nostalgia and drinking, buried tensions emerge that simmer beneath the surface. But when they discover they possess a winning lottery ticket worth $300 million, their lives change. Meanwhile, a snowstorm traps them inside the cabin, fueling the tensions. When the mysterious ranger Rick (Austin North) arrives unexpectedly, the group's fragile alliances shatter.

Cast

In the cast is Belmont Cameli, who is in the TV series Off Campus, where he plays hockey team captain Garrett Graham, and acted in the horror movie Until Dawn. The other actors are Sofia Wylie, performer in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and the new movie The Body; Madison Thompson, already seen in episodes of Euphoria and Ozark; Noa Fisher, Genevieve Hannelius, Trew Mullen.

Director

The direction is by Leo Milano, who already directed The Crusades. "The Lottery explores how quickly friendship can disintegrate when life-changing money ignites greed," he stated. "The extraordinary chemistry of the cast roots the story in something immediately recognizable to anyone who has ever had a weekend with friends, where drunken nostalgia, chaos, and buried tensions simmer just beneath the surface. Which raises a simple question: would you split millions of dollars with someone you hate?"

Production

The production is by Bad Little Thing, MoJo Global Arts. Filming took place in February and March 2026.
