Interview with Barry Aird, actor in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

It was a very exciting experience to be involved in such a big movie and a dream come true to be part of the Marvel family in my own small way.

What is the thing you love most about this movie?

I love the idea that The Avengers come together no matter what to battle against the odds.

Tell us about your character.

I play a Sokovian police captain trying to help the Avengers against Ultron during the big final battle.

Can you share with us a funny episode that happened during filming?

Well, the movie has a lot of action sequences and one of the scenes I shot was very effect-heavy. It had lots of explosions, lots of pyro's, lots of flame effects and pistols and AK-47s being shot off all over the place; very noisy, very exciting. So exciting, in fact, that the first time we went for a take I got completely carried away with it all and then totally forgot my lines and ended up mumbling some complete and utter nonsense. Luckily Joss Whedon was unhappy with another aspect of the take so I think I got away with it. Phew!

What were the main difficulties you encountered while making this film?

That would be a question for the Director or the Line Producer rather than me, I think. There is so much happening on a film of this size at any given moment that I’m very much glad I only have to concentrate on my little part of it.

What do you expect from the chapter in the franchise, “Avengers: Infinity War” and "Avengers: Endgame"?

I’m a big fan of all the Avengers movies, although I did think it may, perhaps, have slightly suffered from the lack of a certain Sokovian police captain involvement. That’s what the people really want nowadays, I think.
