Interview with singer Jesse Lynn Madera, 'Come Visit Soon' is new album
Jesse Lynn Madera is singer-songwriter.
Your husband is an actor. Does he give you advice on music, or do you give advice to him?
He certainly is, I am so proud of him. The advice he gives me has more to do with the industry, and is indispensable. I am not much of a saleswoman. I mostly float and observe, and am known to stay in one place for quite awhile. Hemky reminds me to swim forward. I can write a million songs, but we both know that if nobody hears them, I start to feel pretty isolated. I’m a much better writer than I am a talker, it’s my main form of self expression. While I might not walk into a room and take it over, I can connect through a song. That makes me feel understood in the world, and much less lonely. I do give somewhat unsolicited advice to him about acting, though. You should ask him how he feels about that! We make a good team.
