Interview with VFX artist Fefo Desouza: 'One of the most complex work was Twilight saga’
Fefo Desouza worked on the movie Avengers
How does it feel to know you’ve transcended all boundaries by being one of the first VFX artist who innovated by performing a flawless face replacement and de-aging?
That was
challenging. We were requested to do something that nobody was doing at the
time. We had to develop new techniques to put the actors face in their body
doubles. A multiple camera rig was built to shoot the actors face in the
studio, when he performs like he was on the action scene. Then we get the
images of all the cameras and project that in a CG face. The de-age is another
chapter. One of the most complex work was Twilight saga. The actrees was 15 yo
when they shot but the movie had several sequences of “flash backs” with her in
different ages. From baby to teenage.
