Ponies, Emilia Clarke interview
The statements of Emilia Clarke
So I play B, and she is a kind of do-gooder, perfectionist, anxious control freak whose husband is in the CIA. He dies in the first episode, and then myself and a character called Twyla, played by Haley Lu Richardson, decide to go back to Moscow to figure out what happened to our husbands and in the process become spies.
Well, because it's—yes, it's a spy story, but unlike any other spy stories that are around, it is a story about two women and that's kind of the basis of it. It's B and it's Twyla and that's the show. And I think we're pretty cute.
Her capacity to change and grow I found to be really wonderful. She also—girl spoke fluent Russian, she got the smarts, you know? She's a very smart woman and she cares, so I like that.
So the fashion was obviously a very big draw and that was amazing, the fashion was brilliant. And there was no tech apart from like fun little sneaky cameras and all of the old-school spy stuff, but no phones, no computers, no none of that. So it was—that was a lot of fun getting to have that kind of freedom back.
We love each other. I mean, it was just like when we first met on Zoom, it was sort of like love at first sight and it's carried on.
