Ready Or Not Here I Come 2, Matt Bettinelli Olpin and Tyler Gillett Interview

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin: "Extremely. Our first movie ever was at South bys, and we haven't been back since. So that was 2012 for V/H/S."

Tyler Gillett: "No better genre audience."

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin: "Yeah, really thrilled."

Tyler Gillett: "That was incredible, so happy to be back. We wanted to just grow—grow everything in equal measures. Make it scarier, sillier, more heartfelt, more emotional, and you know, I think we achieved that."

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin: "Sam, you know, she is the movie, both movies in so many ways, and like, I don't think we know what it would be without her. She's just the best to work with, she's the best on screen, we just love her."

Tyler Gillett: "This movie is so packed full of all of the things we've been talking about. It's full of action, it's full of like real horror moments, it's full of like real juicy character stuff, and sometimes we were doing all of it in the span of one day. And I mean, Sam is the lynchpin of all of that. I think there was only one day of shooting where she was actually sitting down or laying down, the rest she was up and—and running at a full sprint."

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin: "Grown the lore, the mythology..."

Tyler Gillett: "The mythology’s a lot bigger."

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin: "The cast, the ensemble’s grown quite a bit."

Tyler Gillett: "Yes, the ensemble’s grown, the mythology’s grown, the action’s grown. I mean, we tried to like, in a—in an organic way, build it out and just make it a bigger—a bigger movie."

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin: "It’s no longer one house."

Tyler Gillett: "It's now the grounds of a very large resort."

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin: "It is as if not more twisty and turny than the first one. And yes, there are things that we can say quite confidently no one will know what to expect with the third act of this movie."
