The Devil Wears Prada 2, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt London Premiere Interview

Emily: Well they’re very beloved to us as well. I mean I think these characters you kind of fuse with them and I, we hopefully I haven’t fused too much with Emily Charlton.

Anne: You’re so lovely. Emily’s the most fun person in the world and then all of a sudden she’s like [makes sound].

Emily: Yeah she’s sort of simmering at the surface at all times. But so it was really wonderful to not only play these characters but be back together. I think that was the most fun part.

Anne: Well I had, you know, I just had so much fun working with Emily 20 years ago and we’ve all gone out and like made other movies since then. And I always just knew how special she was so it was just a pleasure to come, like feel like I was coming home and just be like oh yeah 20 years ago I was absolutely right, that was probably one of the best actresses I’m ever going to work with.

Anne: It was a big question for me whether or not I was going to do the bangs again.

Emily: And I didn’t.

Anne: And I didn’t. I don’t know.

Emily: You do look cute with the bangs.

Anne: I do like it so if, if we’re lucky enough to make a third we’ll have to maybe explore it again.

Emily: But really short ones. Like micro.

Anne: Ones that stick out.

Emily: Like a beak.

Anne: She’s like cut her own bangs and she slipped.

Emily: You’re trying to set a new trend, it doesn’t take off.

Anne: The third film is just a series of unfortunate haircuts.

Emily: Yeah it’s bad. We’ve all got the worst... I have a bowl cut.

Anne: We’re trying to set trends with the third one and we’ll fail. That would, that would be kind of be diabolical. If we like do things that we know are horrible because it set a trend. It’s a big misuse of power.

Interviewer: Was there anything about Emily that...?

Emily: I mean I think she has power now. She has power and that makes her rather dangerous, mainly onto herself I think. You know.
