"Yeah, I think fans will be really happy with what uh Paul did with the book and what the rest of us did, and we stayed pretty true to it but I think elevated it in a lot of ways and kind of spinal tapped it and turned everything up to eleven.
Oh, it was a dream. I mean, Paul's, um, I mean one of the uh, just one of the sweetest gentlemen, he's such a gentleman and um, he just creates a really safe work environment to uh, try things and kind of go out of your comfort zone and really paint with as bright a colors as you can, and and um, yeah, and, and Sydney and Amanda are both incredible and Amanda got to really uh, really get, get, get pretty wild in it and um, yeah, yeah, it was, it was a beautiful experience.
I mean, just watch all movies in the theater, because that's the best place to watch them. Um, it's a whole different experience. Especially something like this, I mean, it's a um, yeah, I mean, it's a, it's a, it's a um, it's a collective experience and anytime you can watch something that's really like permeating and stimulates your senses in a lot of ways, which this film does hopefully, um, I think that it just elevates the whole thing.”
The Housemaid, will be released on December 19, 2025
The upcoming film, The Housemaid, is directed by Paul Feig, who is known for his successful female-led comedies like Bridesmaids. It stars Millie Calloway, a young woman who takes a job as a housemaid in the luxurious residence of the Winchester family.
The Housemaid is a gripping thriller that delves into complex social dynamics, exploring themes of seduction, betrayal, and revenge. The story follows Millie, who is eager for a new start, as she becomes immersed in an environment that appears perfect but is secretly laden with tension and dark secrets.
The film is set to be released in the United States on December 19, 2025.
The events unfold within the lavish Winchester mansion—a setting that hides many disturbing truths behind a facade of perfection and wealth.
The movie is an adaptation of the eponymous bestselling novel by Freida McFadden, which captivated audiences with its shocking twists and turns.
Director Paul Feig has playfully described The Housemaid as a sort of "Nancy Meyers movie gone horribly wrong," taking inspiration from the bright, idyllic atmosphere of Meyers' films only to subvert it with elements of intense suspense and tension.
