The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Chris Pratt and Charlie Day Interview
The statements of Chris Pratt and Charlie Day
Chris Pratt: I love Japan. I've only ever been to Tokyo but it's such a clean and polite city. I love the people, I love the fashion, I love the architecture and obviously I love the food.
Charlie Day: Yeah, the food was spectacular and being there with Miyamoto-san and having him take us to one of his favorite restaurants and sitting with our families and our kids and just seeing the joy on their faces to be meeting the man who created this world that they're so obsessed with, it was really special.
Chris Pratt: Yeah, it was really cool. And it's also fun to be back with the directors and kind of finding the rhythm again.
Charlie Day: Yeah, it felt like we could just jump right in.
Chris Pratt: Exactly. We already did the hard work of finding the voices so this time we could just play and have fun with it.
Charlie Day: I love the relationship between Mario and Luigi. It's so heart-centered. They really care about each other and they're willing to do anything for one another.
Chris Pratt: Yeah, and Mario is such a determined character. He's not going to give up, no matter what. He's got that pluck and that spirit that I think people really respond to.
Charlie Day: And Luigi, you know, he's got his fears but he overcomes them for his brother. That's true bravery.
Chris Pratt: There's so much for the fans in this movie. If you grew up playing the games, you're going to see so many little details and Easter eggs that will just make you smile.
Charlie Day: But even if you don't know the games, it's just a great story with great characters and incredible animation.
Chris Pratt: The animation is truly stunning. Illumination did such an incredible job of bringing this world to life in a way that feels both familiar and brand new.
Charlie Day: It's a real cinematic experience. You want to see it on the big screen with the big sound.
Chris Pratt: And with some popcorn.
Charlie Day: Oh, definitely popcorn. What's your go-to?
Chris Pratt: I'm a butter guy. Lots of butter. And maybe some Milk Duds to mix in there.
Charlie Day: See, I like the salty and sweet but I'm more of a Raisinets person.
Chris Pratt: Raisinets? Really?
Charlie Day: Yeah, don't knock it until you try it. The combination of the warm popcorn and the chocolate-covered raisins is perfect.
Chris Pratt: I'll stick to my Milk Duds, thanks.
Charlie Day: Fair enough. More Raisinets for me.
