Tv series Stargirl, interview with actress Joy Osmanski
Can you tell us about Duncanville?
Okay, so let me just say that Duncanville and Stargirl were shooting concurrently, and going back and forth from playing a supervillain to a five-year-old was often a little mind-boggling. And wonderful.
Duncanville comes from the brilliant minds of Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully and Amy Poehler and that combination pretty much hits all the comedy notes in all the right ways. It centers around a spectacularly average teenager, Duncan, and how his rich fantasy life exists in sharp contrast with his actual family life, which everyone can relate to.
For me, it’s completely surreal to be at a table read, sitting next to Amy Poehler who plays both my mom and my brother, with Ty Burrell next to her, Rashida Jones, Wiz Khalifa, Riki, Yassir, Betsy and Zach, and everyone just belly laughing the whole way through. I’m so grateful.
