'Viggo Mortensen is very keen on every detail': interview with actor Thomas Brofhy

Everyone I worked with on set was terrific. I didn’t get to work with Samantha unfortunately. But, having the opportunity to work with Viggo Mortenesen was such a pleasure.  He has been an inspiration to me as an aspiring actor. It was a great education on acting.  He was the consummate professional. What really stood out was his focus. He is very keen on every detail but also brings a sense of experimentation and willingness to try different things to each take.  Not to mention the bond that he had with the children. I also, can’t say enough about our Director, Matt Ross. What a thrill to work with him. He was so patient and fun.  There was the feeling of play on set which was a comfort as sets can be stressful places but not on the Captain Fantastic set when I was there.  Even though I had a smaller role, Mr. Ross didn’t treat me any different.  He is an actor’s director and I admire him.  I would love to work with both Mr. Mortenesen and Mr. Ross again in a heartbeat.
