'Viggo Mortensen is very keen on every detail': interview with actor Thomas Brofhy
Captain Fantastic is the movie with Viggo Mortensen
The film also tells of the difficulty of giving rules to one's children. What do you think the meaning of the film is?
Firstly, I should mention that I do not have children. But to me, I think the film is about the stronger bonds of family and that as parents, you try to do right by your children to raise them in a way to help them be good adults and citizens. And sometimes that means making decisions that are not always popular. I see Ben (Viggo Mortensen’s character) not liking the direction the world is headed and with the help from his wife (the amazing Trin Miller. Watch out for her, Trin is going places) they set out to establish a new society for their children from the evils of the world and you can agree or not with their decision but I admire what they did in the context of this story. I liken this film as a modern version of the classic Swiss Family Robinson in many respects.
