Welcome To Rockville, Interview with band Lit: 'Rocking Strong, Evolving, and Blessed'
When Ajay Popoff (lead vocals) and Jeremy Popoff (lead guitar/vocals) hit the stage, they bring decades of rock energy with them. Best known for their massive hit ‘My Own Worst Enemy,’ Lit has mastered the balance of Hollywood flair and Tennessee grit, proving time and time again that the road is where they thrive.
For Lit, performing locally has its moments,
but traveling is where they feel most alive. The energy, the unpredictability,
the way new places fuel creativity—it's all part of what keeps them pushing
forward.
That fresh perspective keeps their music
sharp, letting them blend generational influences while bringing new energy
into the fold.
Lit’s creative process thrives in the studio,
where they dive into recording sessions to refine their sound.
"We hit the studio, cut it, make demos,
and let the magic happen."
Whether they’re crafting new tracks or revisiting classics, their dedication to the process keeps the music real and raw. Their journey hasn’t always been glamorous.
At the recent Welcome To Rockville music
festival, both Ajay and Jeremy shared some stories about when they started, "We
didn’t start out with great sex appeal in our vehicle on the road, mixing Jäger
drinks," they laugh. "But now, we’re beyond blessed."
Lit has long been big fans of Iron Maiden, drawing inspiration from legendary rock icons while carving their own path. Even under the heat of Florida, they stay fueled, keeping the momentum alive for what’s next.
Lit continues to evolve, experiment, and stay true to their roots while embracing new opportunities. Their music still hits hard, their message still matters, and their journey proves that rock never stops, it just keeps reinventing itself.
