"Thank you to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for this incredible honor. I mean this is... this is beyond insane and surreal.

Growing up in Malaysia, I lived between two worlds of wonder. One was the glowing cinema screens which always felt so far away, and the other was the quiet fishing trips with my parents under the vast open sky. My father would point out the North Star.

He said, 'the one you could always trust to guide you home.' And beside him was my mom—who is the real diva here—who taught me that the horizon was far wider than I ever imagined. Between the two of them, I found my roots and my wings. I honestly never dreamed that one day my own North Star would be here, etched into the ground of Hollywood Boulevard.

This star may have only one name, but it represents so many people who made this journey possible. I hope it also reminds someone, somewhere, that it is possible; that where you begin does not define where you can go.

Because, very easily, once I was a little girl from Malaysia, sitting under the vast sky, looking up at a single steady star and daring to believe I could follow it. And now this one's on the ground!

To my dad, I know you’re up there still watching and guiding me. To my mom, who’s still praying every day for me that I will succeed. This is our star. And thank you to each and every one of you for being here, for showing your love and support to me all the way, always, in my journey that has led me to Hollywood."

"I didn't expect, um, how emotional it would get. Um, the love and support I have from people who actually led me to be here today, and that is... overwhelming"

"I think what it is is we were so blessed that we had a chance to get to know each other and work together and make dreams come true for each other. And I think during the process of it all, we became family. And it shows. Um, I really thank them for all the kind words that they said. I hope I'm deserving of it all. Uh, and I'm really grateful.

You know, because I have my Bond producers, Barbara Broccoli, I have... um, oh my goodness... uh, so all the friends that I've collected over the years—I mean, my, my own career has spanned now almost forty years—but to still see them here today, to be here for me, is wonderful."

"I think I was just so blessed that my parents taught this little girl, you know, to be bold enough to dream. Uh, because first of all, if you give up, then you've never tried anything. And so I followed my heart, I followed my star, but I always knew that they were behind me and they were always supportive of whatever I did and whatever dreams that I had."
