Deep Water, the movie's plot

Deep Water is the thriller and action movie coming out. The plot focuses on a group of international passengers whose plane, flying from Los Angeles to Shanghai, is forced to make an emergency landing in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. But the place is infested with sharks, and the survivors must fight against each other and against nature, with a wreck that is sinking, and sharks attracted by the plane's remains.

"You're simply annoying" says the plane's first pilot (Aaron Eckhart) to his colleague (Ben Kingsley) while they are taking off. An onboard fire follows, and the aircraft is forced to land.

"What do we do?" asks a flight attendant, when the plane is severed and now in the ocean; "we find the survivors" the pilot responds. The flight attendant throws herself into the water, but is attacked by a shark. "We just have to hold on" says the other pilot.

Deep Water, the movie's cast

Aaron Eckhart returns to collaborate with director Renny Harlin after The Bricklayer: he has acted in Midway, Frankenstein, Incarnate and in the upcoming Midail. Ben Kingsley won the Oscar for Gandhi, and has recently appeared in the tv series Wonder Man.

Present in the cast are Angus Sampson, known for his role in Mad Max: Fury Road; Lucy Barrett, already seen in Sissy. The direction is by Renny Harlin, who has already directed the three chapters of The Strangers and Refuge, as well as Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger.

Deep Water, the movie's filming and release date

The production is by Magenta Light Studios, Arclight Films and Simmons/Hamilton Productions. Filming took place in New Zealand and Spain, in November and December 2023. The movie will open the Sarasota Film Festival in April 2026, with the presence of director Renny Harlin and producer Gene Simmons, Kiss frontman: it releases in American theaters on May 1, 2026.
