The Mandalorian and Grogu 2, the Possible Plot of the Movie
The Mandalorian and Grogu 2 is the sci-fi movie not yet entered into development phase. It would be the sequel to The Mandalorian and Grogu, now in theaters, which tells the story of the solitary bounty hunter, Din Djarin / The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) on the run, while protecting an alien child, Grogu. The little one escapes capture in a dangerous and lawless galaxy, and is of the same species as Yoda, namely the green humanoid alien endowed - in the Star Wars saga - with the power of the Force.
The plot proved to be quite simple, with the villains - Jabba's cousins - already seen previously in Star Wars, aided by bounty hunter Embo. Apart from these three characters, the movie does not attempt to significantly influence the Star Wars timeline. With such generic narrative lines, the movie leaves the door open for the return of Din Djarin and Grogu in a new story. Din and Grogu end the movie still together, still with the New Republic, and ready to continue their work. If Disney was willing to spend millions on the movie and mark the return of Star Wars to the big screen with a new theatrical release after seven years, The Mandalorian is a property to exploit.
The movie has one of the lowest scores on Rotten Tomatoes among all Star Wars movies, standing at 61% from critics, with a global box office of 163 million dollars against a budget of 165.
The Mandalorian and Grogu, the Movie Cast
Pedro Pascal will always be Din Djarin / The Mandalorian, bounty hunter residing in the galaxy's borders: the actor has recently worked in the TV series The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, movie Freaky Tales and movie The Fantastic Four. Sigourney Weaver would also return as Ward, colonel and leader of the New Republic's Adelphi Rangers who previously served as a pilot for the Rebel Alliance. Steve Blum is Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios, Lasat captain in the New Republic and former member of the Ghost crew, first appeared in the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
Jeremy Allen White would probably be Rotta the Hutt, son of the late criminal leader Jabba the Hutt. The direction could also be entrusted again to Jon Favreau, having written episodes of The Mandalorian - from which the movie is adapted - and The Book of Boba Fett. Dave Filoni and George Lucas would work on the screenplay. Grogu was conceived by Favreau based on the desire to explore the mystery around Yoda and his species, in contrast to Yoda who ends his journey in Return of the Jedi (1983): Favreau believed that part of Yoda's appeal was that George Lucas had deliberately kept his origins and species details mysterious, hypothesizing that that sense of mystery would extend to Grogu.
