Mutiny: thriller movie plot

Mutiny is the action and thriller movie coming out. The plot focuses on Cole Reed (Jason Statham), former Special Forces member and former New York police officer. Now he works in private security: after the murder of his Thai billionaire friend, Tibu, he stumbles upon an international conspiracy in search of the real killer. But he himself is accused of the crime.

"I'm here to help you. I'm back" says Cole in the released trailer, trying to free some people imprisoned on a ship, including women and children. "We have a problem on the ship. A stowaway" says the ship's captain.

"Who the hell are you?" asks the character played by Annabelle Wallis; "right now the only thing that matters is getting those people to safety" Cole responds.

Jason Statham starred in A Working Man, Meg 2, Fast X in the role of Shaw, and The Beekeeper. The cast also includes Annabelle Wallis, already seen in Malignant and Silent Night; Arnas Fedaravicius, performer in the TV series The White Lotus and The Wheel of Time; Chaneil Kular, who worked on episodes of Protection and Sex Education.

The direction is by Jean-François Richet, who already directed The Plane and the two movies Public Enemy Number One.

Mutiny: filming and release date

The production is by Punch Palace Productions and MadRiver Pictures. Filming began in September 2024 in the United Kingdom, then moved to Malta, and concluded in November. The movie is released in the United States on January 9, 2026.
