Movie The heroes of Halyard, actor Adam Davenport: 'It's the real story of a rescue'

The Heroes of Halyard is the war movie that will be presented at the Lumiere Music Hall in Beverly Hills on December 14. The movie is directed by Rados Bajic and stars Zarko Lausevic. Adam Davenport is also in the cast, he says. "The film, from the vision of legendary actor/director Rados Bajic, is set in a remote Serbian village in the spring of 1944 and tells the story of a family returned apart by competing ideologies when two brothers take up opposing sides in the dying days of World War II -  he says - one fighting on behalf of the right-wing Yugoslav Army in the Homeland, the other on behalf of the left-wing Partisans. It centers on the true story of a rescue operation to save American and Allied airmen trapped behind enemy lines in Nazi-occupied territory of what is now Serbia".

The film was screened at the Serbian Chicago Film Festival on December 8 and will be presented at the Lumiere Music Hall in Beverly Hills on December 14. 

"I play a real life character, James Alonzo Walker, the only African-American pilot rescued during the Halyard mission - says Davenport - He flew in the famous 332 Fighter Group, called "Redtails.” It was my first film that I shot in Serbia. I was told after filming that I am the first African American actor and one of the first of African descent to appear in the history of Serbian cinema".
The film has already been released in Serbia and has reached the top positions in the list of most watched films.
