‘George Clooney is so friendly and generous’: interview with acress Jillian Armenante
Jillian Armenante worked in Vice and Hail, Caesar! with George Clooney
What do you think of this kind of ironic film?
This period in Hollywood is one of my very favorites. The films went from the story driven films of the 1940’s to the visually epic and biblical stories of the 1950 with the advent of such cinematic breakthroughs as cinemascope and technicolor. Exploring this particular time period is intriguing to me because I grew up on these films as a child growing up. These were the films that were played cyclically on our local New York television station. Hollywood is the actual backdrop of this film in such a meta kind of way and the Coen Bros take advantage of every film convention of the time period to tell this fabulous story in a hilarious way.
