Interview with actor Josh Pais: 'In the film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles we lost 5 pounds every day'

Josh Oais has worked in a multitude of movies and TV shows. He is known for his many recurring roles including Showtimes' Ray Donovan as Stu Feldman, Netflix's Maniac, HBO's Mrs. Fletcher with Kathryn Hahn, Younger, Law and Order. He worked also in movie Joker, Motherless Brooklyn.

You also have an acting school. What's the first thing you advise students to avoid?

I am founder of an acting school called Committed Impulse. The first advice I would give any student is to learn how to access their spontaneity, and to make offering their truth while acting a priority.

What to avoid: presenting an idea of the scene at the expense of your truth in the moment. Trust how the scene is unfolding as opposed to trying to manipulate the scene.
