Interview with 'Film Fest' director: 'The story is a combination of the best and worst of us'

The film is very personal for both Paul and me, The more honest in our writing, the more interesting and relatable. We made a lot of specific choices with the mindset, “if it’s true for us, it’s true for someone else.” Logan is made up of a combination of the best and worst of us over the years. For me, I put him in the same place I was in after I made my first feature, Division III: Football’s Finest, feeling both accomplished and disillusioned. Every other character is a version of someone we know or have encountered in this industry. The festival itself is also a Frankenstein of a few festivals we’ve been to, but specific enough to where any viewer familiar with this world will think, “I’ve been to that festival."
