Movie Dead Man's Wire, interview with actress Stephanie Bertoni

Dead Man's Wire is an upcoming crime drama film. Set in the 1970s, the film tells the story of Tony Kiritsis (played by Bill Skarsgård), who kidnaps his mortgage lender and demands money. The film is directed by Gus Van Sant and also stars Al Pacino, Cary Elwes, Dacre Montgomery and Stephanie Bertoni.

You'll be appearing in the film Dead Man's Wire. Could you tell us about your character?

She's a hard-working, sympathetic, TV news journalist and anchor who cares about how the quality, accuracy, and presentation of news affects the global community while facing the fact that news is no longer a program, but a "show."

It's a very tense crime thriller. Do you enjoy this genre of film?

I enjoy all genres and that includes timely human interest pieces such as Gus Van Sant's "Dead Man's Wire" because it forces society to have the necessary and tough conversations needed to effect change.

The story is based on a true story. Do you think that, even after so many years, human history has changed, or does it often repeat itself?

Austin Kolodney's "Dead Man's Wire" is more than a snapshot of its era as it projects the ever-present class struggle and poses the question, "what if somebody did the thing that some people fantasize about?"

What was it like working with Bill Skarsgård and Al Pacino on set?

We worked under extreme winter weather conditions while Los Angeles was on fire and everyone, especially Cary, Al, Colman, Bill, Dacre, and Myha'la, still brought their unique flair to Austin Kolodney's very well written script under the calm and intuitive direction of Gus Van Sant.

You've worked on various television and film projects. Which are you most fond of, and why?

Dead Man's Wire resonates the most as the story sympathetically, and at times comedically,  explores the emotional experience on all sides of an event where an average person has had enough.

Can you give us a sneak peek of your upcoming projects?

I'm currently preparing for an exciting project that I'll be happy to talk more about soon.
