Tv series Stargirl, interview with actress Joy Osmanski
Joy Osmanky worked in FOX’s tv series Duncanville, as well as CW’s “Stargirl” (premiering Spring 2020), which cast includes Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, and Luke Wilson.
How were you chosen to work on Star Girl?
I was in the middle of tech for a play at the Mark Taper Forum when I got the audition for Stargirl. Honestly, I was so immersed in rehearsal that I almost didn’t do it. It was a self-tape audition and I couldn’t imagine adding any more work to an already concentrated creative time. However! After I read the audition material I was like, Okay, this is fantastic. The writing was so fun and funny and the character was so different from what I usually play. So I managed to submit the self-tape, Geoff saw it, and that was that.
