Ted Lasso is based on a character created for a series of NBC Sports Premiere League soccer promos. The show was adapted for TV by Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence and tells a story about an American college football coach Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) who is hired to coach a Premiere League soccer team in England.
