Stranger Things: Tales From '85, the Animated Series Between Season 2 and 3 on Netflix
Plot, cast and release of Stranger Things: Tales From '85, the new animated mystery set in the Hawkins universe
The series, premiering April 23, is set in the Stranger Things universe, between Season 2 and Season 3. In the Season 2 finale, Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) closed the gate at Hawkins Lab, which presented a conundrum for Tales From '85.
The Creative Challenge of Stranger Things: Tales From '85
"That was the big challenge of developing the show," says Robles, who also produces the series through Flying Bark Productions (What If...?).
When Ross and Matt Duffer approached him to solve that very problem, he told the creative duo: "Let me do some research on this. Let me really dissect the show, dig into my old memory vault of a lot of '80s movies I used to watch, and see what I can piece together here." And once he began that process, the idea for the show "just hit me."
"Something from the Upside Down must have survived last year," says Dustin in a new teaser for the upcoming animated series Stranger Things: Tales From '85. The project comes from showrunner Eric Robles (Glitch Techs, Fanboy & Chum Chum) and Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer.
The New Creatures of Hawkins in Stranger Things: Tales From '85
The preview features the strange new creatures roaming around Hawkins. "It's like Hawkins Lab science meets Upside Down matter - says Robles - When you put them together, those are the kinds of creatures we have in our world."
Eric Robles has worked as showrunner for Glitch Techs on Netflix and created Fanboy & Chum Chum for Nickelodeon. Flying Bark Productions has recently produced episodes of What If...? for Marvel Studios. Jeremy Jordan is known for his role in Supergirl and has recently voiced in Hazbin Hotel. Matt and Ross Duffer concluded Stranger Things with the fifth season, while Millie Bobby Brown has acted in Enola Holmes and Damsel for Netflix.
