Q. Deadlines: it seems a constant that shares many cartoonists. How does time pressure influence your creative work?

A. Usually I can deal with the pressure really well, I work better with  a set deadline that is close than with a longer deadline. I haven’t missed a deadline yet, so I’m good with deadlines, they fueled me!

Q. What kind of artist are you? Looking for silence during work or permitting to welcome the noisy world for inspiration?

A. I listen to music but mostly talk radio all day so I feel like I’m with people, sometimes some silence. But music doesn’t give me inspiration, just recreation.

Q. Have you ever worked on comics that give you more "frustration" than satisfaction? How do you exceed the impasse?

A. Most of the stuff I do I have a lot of fun. Probably 2 times I didn’t like what I was doing and it really sucked, I didn’t wanted to do it but I had to, it was really bad times. So after that, I decided that is more important to do something you like than the money they offer.

Q. In other interviews, you mentioned Superman as your favorite Superheroes. Why, what has Superman so special in comparison to his colleagues?

A. I love Superman because it was the first Superhero I got to read as a kid and I also loved him from the movies. I always liked his Superpowers and that he just wants to use his powers to help and he’s a nice guy!

Q. You are currently working on New Suicide Squad. There are much expectations about the movie, what do you think about it?

A. I already finished my Suicide Squad run and it was really fun, I had a great time drawing it.  Tim Seeley came up with a nice arc and I wish we had more issues to draw, but they had the rebirth plan already moving along when we came on board of the title. I really like the trailers I saw from the movie so far so I’m really expecting to see it and I hope is a funny movie!

Q. With Otto Schmidt and Stephen Byrne, you're currently designing the successful Rebirth series of Green Arrow. How would you describe the experience?

A. It’s an incredible experience so far, I never read Green Arrow before so at first I was a little scared to do it, but once I saw that I was going to share art duties with Otto and they showed me the stories they wanted to tell, I was on board!
I really enjoyed the Superman stories of the 90’s where there where 4 titles a month with all different artist and I really liked seeing the different takes from artist and how they all teamed up to come up with a single big story. So working on a similar fashion for Green Arrow Rebirth, where the stories comes out 2 times a month, is a cool experience, I love it!
Also Otto, Stephen and I share the same quality regarding that. We all color our own stuff and that makes our run distinctive from the other ones. Every time I see their stuff they make me wanna come up with my best stuff, so I don’t fall behind!

Q. Can you anticipate, at least, a new forthcoming project?

A. I will be working on Green Arrow for some time, but I have a little project with Superman, is an 8 page story for an Anthology that DC will publish in November I think.
