Interview with the director of the film The Hunoly, Evan Spiliotopoulos: 'Absolute good must also exist'
Cinema / Interview - 05 April 2021
The horror movie The Unholy is out in theaters

Filming was interrupted due to the Covid-19 emergency. Do you think the restrictions due to the coronavirus will change the way the film is enjoyed?
I like to say my film had a longer shooting schedule than Lawrence of Arabia. We started in mid-February for a seven-week shoot, shut down after four weeks due to the pandemic, spent the summer assembling our footage from the first part of shooting, returned to Massachusetts in September and completed the rest of filming by mid-October. We were extremely fortunate thanks to the planning by our First AD Steve Danton to start our shoot with the third act climax that had 500 extras in an enclosed tent. Had we not done that pre-pandemic we may not have been able to complete the picture. Our full attention when we resumed was to avoid compromising the film by the pandemic health restrictions. Fortunately, Screen Gems fully supported the project and they provided a vfx budget to help us achieve our vision fully and safely.
