Many TV series have been inspired by comic books, what are your thoughts on this aspect of the TV market?

I think, whereas it has had a fairly negative effect on the movie industry, with so many superhero franchises boring ‘enlightened’ audiences half to death and not doing much at all for female characters or actresses, the TV industry, has taken some of these characters and created female roles that are multi-layered, fascinating and empowered. Riverdale feels to me like a feminist take on the comic, with many of the storylines being driven by women. I love that and if you look at the TV industry in general, it represents equality in terms of gender and race way better than the commercial film industry does. Betty, Veronica, Cheryl, Josie, Alice, Hermione and Penelope have complex stories and personalities that take the comic to the next level - into the new millennium.
