The Waiting Room is the new book
Is there a connection with the previous book, Quicksand?
Oh indeed. I did so consciously. They’re both non-linear, autobiographical short stories and poems. Dark Comedy. Behind the stories of infidelity, self-deprecation, painful honesty and hilarity, the underlying backstory of Quicksand is my second chance at reconnection and redemption with the woman I loved, trying to heal that relationship. In The Waiting Room, that second chance and reconnection was with my father who was dying. Both covers of the books are interesting baby pictures of me, both contain illustrations I did based off personal photographs.
