The box office of the most watched movies in the United States from May 29 to 31, 2026 - with still provisional data - sees in first place the new entry Backrooms ($81,456,295): after a therapist's patient disappears into a dimension beyond reality, she must venture into the unknown to save him.

Obsession

In second remains Obsession ($104,757,650): after breaking the mysterious "One Wish Willow" to win over the girl he loves, a boy gets what he desired, but soon discovers that some wishes have a dark and sinister price. The girl doesn't simply fall in love with her companion, but becomes dangerously obsessed with him, falling into a sort of trance.

Michael

In fourth descends Michael ($314,220,189): the formation of musician Michael Jackson is told from his childhood - as a star of the Jackson 5 - passing through the violence suffered from his father Joe Jackson, his successful albums Off the Wall and Thriller, his last performance with his brothers, up to the tour following the release of the album Bad.

The Breadwinner

In fifth enters the new entry The Breadwinner ($7,500,000): a mom gets a deal on Shark Tank, switching roles with her husband, who is the only one bringing home a salary. He struggles to adapt to the role of stay-at-home father for their three daughters.

Power Ballad

In fourteenth is Power Ballad ($170,000): Rick, a declining wedding singer, and Danny, a boy band star on the sunset boulevard, forge a bond through music and a nighttime jam session. When Danny transforms one of Rick's songs into a hit, Rick wants to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves.

Time and Water

In twenty-first is Time and Water ($8,625): an Icelandic writer preserves in his personal archives endangered glaciers, disappeared grandparents, family memories and the passage of time, transforming loss into a time capsule.

The Currents

In twenty-second is The Currents ($8,509): during a business trip to Geneva, Lina's impulsive decision leads to dangerous consequences. Returned to Buenos Aires, she tries to bury her secret, but the dark past she left behind resurfaces threatening her current life.
