Three Women and a Returning Past: The Final Season of TV series 'Another Self
Another Self season 3: release date, plot and cast of the Turkish series on Netflix
Another Self Season 3: When It Comes Out on Netflix
On June 24th, the third and final season of Another Self (Zeytin Ağacı) arrives on Netflix, the Turkish series that has conquered international audiences with its introspective narrative. The platform has confirmed that this chapter will conclude the journey of Ada, Sevgi, and Leyla, three women bound by a deep friendship and a shared past.
The Plot of the Final Season
Ada returns to Ayvalık to start over, but a connection from the past modifies her path and changes direction. Sevgi finds herself questioning the dream of having a family, while Leyla is forced to confront her relationship. The third season marks a point of no return for the protagonists, who must face what they have avoided for too long.
The Inner Journey of Three Friends
Another Self was one of the first Turkish productions to establish itself on Netflix, distinguishing itself with a narrative that interweaves friendship, trauma, and self-awareness. The series follows Ada, a successful surgeon, Sevgi, an ambitious lawyer, and Leyla, a housewife with a husband and son, on their journey to Ayvalık, on the Turkish coast, after Sevgi is diagnosed with a tumor.
Sevgi refuses conventional treatments and convinces the others to follow an alternative path, entrusting themselves to Zaman, a man with alleged spiritual and thaumaturgical gifts. The sessions in which the three participate become the trigger point of a deeper process: buried memories, unresolved family traumas, and emotional dynamics never confronted emerge.
The journey thus transforms into a close confrontation with the past and with the bonds that unite them. Relational crises, such as the one between Ada and her husband Selim, and family tensions put the friendship to the test, revealing how fragile the balance between support and conflict is.
Cast and Production
The series is written by Nuran Evren Şit and directed by Erdem Tepegöz, with production by Onur Güvenatam for OGM Pictures. The cast includes Tuba Büyüküstün, Seda Bakan, Boncuk Yılmaz, Rıza Kocaoğlu, Umut Kurt, Şükrü Özyıldız, Berk Cankat, İlayda Akdoğan, Füsun Demirel, and Atsız Karaduman.
Recent Projects of the Cast
Tuba Büyüküstün, among the most beloved performers of the Turkish panorama, has recently worked on the series Kızıl Goncalar and the movie Bir Başkadır. Seda Bakan appeared in the series Şahmaran, while Rıza Kocaoğlu participated in Çukur and Kuş Uçuşu. Şükrü Özyıldız recently acted in Baht Oyunu and Kardeşlerim, consolidating his presence in the panorama of contemporary Turkish productions.
