Comedy movie Power Ballad, stolen song with Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas

Power Ballad, the movie’s plot

Power Ballad is the comedy and musical movie in production. The plot centers on Rick (Paul Rudd), a wedding singer now in decline: during a concert he meets the star of a boy band in decline, Danny (Nick Jonas).

The two bond through music and a late-night jam session. But when Danny transforms one of Rick’s songs into the hit that relaunches his career, Rick decides to claim the recognition he believes he deserves, even if it means risking everything he cares about.

“Can I make a suggestion” asks Danny in the released trailer, while he’s composing a song with Rick. Then the two create the single, and Danny appropriates it, so much so that at a concert all the spectators sing it.

Rick - present at the concert - is dismayed. “That’s my song. I wrote it” Rick yells in front of a computer monitor. “You think it’s easy to turn a song into a hit?” Danny yells at him.
