Return to Silent Hill, the movie plot
Return to Silent Hill is the upcoming horror movie: it is the sequel to Silent Hill: Revelation, in which Da Silva is dragged into an alternative reality that contains the answers to the horrible nightmares that have afflicted her since childhood. The sequel should be a reboot, in which James (Jeremy Irvine) is afflicted after being separated from his partner, Mary Crane (Hannah Emily Anderson): he receives a mysterious letter that leads him to a town called Silent Hill. Here he hopes to find her, but understands that the town has been changed by an unknown malevolent force. While exploring the town, terrifying characters emerge, both familiar and unknown. He thus begins to doubt his own mental stability, and tries to understand reality to save his beloved.
“Something happened here. Something horrible,” James says in the released trailer. “All the darkness, you can keep it away,” says a sinister voice off-camera. “Please, don’t go any further,” whispers a female voice. Then James enters the town of Silent Hills: “You don’t know what kind of hell you’ll find.”
Return to Silent Hill, the movie cast
The cast will be completely different from the previous one: Jeremy Irvine has acted in This Is Christmas and The Professor and the Madman, and will be in the horror Baghead. Hannah Emily Anderson has worked on X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Saw: Legacy. The direction is by Christophe Gans, and the screenplay is based on the gameplay of Silent Hill 2, a 2001 video game.
Glass has confirmed that it would be a series of movies, an anthology similar to The Twilight Zone, intending to represent a more psychoanalytic side of the town. The cast also includes Robert Strange, performer in episodes of The Lord of the Rings - The Rings of Power and The Wheel of Time; Eve Macklin, already seen in My Fault: London and Brooklyn.
