Melania is the upcoming documentary movie. The plot focuses on the life of Melania Trump, the first lady of the United States, during the twenty days preceding her husband Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration.

“Here we go again,” says Melania in the released trailer, as she enters the hall where her husband’s inauguration takes place. “The legacy I will be most proud of will be peace builder,” says Donald Trump in a briefing; “peacemaker and unifier,” adds Melania, who is present.

“Together with like-minded leaders, we have a say,” says Melania to a colleague. The movie features exclusive footage of meetings, private conversations, and locations never shown before.

Donald Trump, Brigitte Macron, Hervé Pierre, and Peter Sohn appear in some scenes. The direction is by Brett Ratner, who has previously directed Hercules, the Rush Hour movie series, and X-Men: The Last Stand. A source close to the first lady states that Ratner spent months at Mar-a-Lago during the movie filming.

On January 24, an exclusive screening of the movie was held at the White House, attended by family and friends, including President Donald Trump, Barron Trump, and Erika Kirk: Melania also shared a photo of herself standing at a podium in front of the crowd gathered at the White House. “A historic moment - she defined it - I am deeply honored to have been surrounded last night at the White House by such a stimulating room, full of friends, family, and cultural iconoclasts. Each of these individuals has brought their unique vision to the world, leaving an indelible mark.”

Melania, the filming and release date of the movie

Amazon MGM Studios produced the movie, with a budget of 40 million dollars. Filming of the documentary began in December 2024. The movie releases in US theaters on January 30, 2026.
