In the Grey, the movie plot

In the Grey is the action and drama movie coming out. The plot focuses on some elite agents sent to confront a ruthless despot: when several billion dollars are stolen, they seize them a second time. The two leaders of the team are the arrogant Bronco (Jake Gyllenhaal) and a more pragmatic Englishman called Sid (Henry Cavill), guided by negotiator Sophia (Eiza González).

“Gary, one moment. There are two versions of how this narrative unfolds” says Bronco to Gary (Fisher Stevens) in his office. “Version A” intervenes Sid: “Gary waits patiently and silently near the door” continues Bronco. “Version B” advances Sid; “Gary steps forward and you spend the next six hours cleaning him off the walls” concludes Bronco.

“Guys, don’t say a word. Follow me” says Sophia to the two. Then Bronco and Sid find themselves on an island: “This is Salazar’s island. The police are paid, and he has a fairly experienced private army” says Sid.

Motorcycle and car chases follow. “Picture between moral and immoral. Black and white. They operate in the grey” glosses Sophia on the phone.

In the Grey, the movie cast

Jake Gyllenhaal has recently worked in The Covenant and will be in Road House 2, Remain and The Division. Henry Cavill appeared in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Argylle; Eiza González has worked in Ambulance and in Godzilla vs. Kong.

The other actors are Rosamund Pike, performer in Gone Girl with Ben Affleck, and in episodes of The Wheel of Time; Jason Wong, already seen in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and The Covenant. The direction is by Guy Ritchie, who has recently directed The Covenant and episodes of The Gentlemen.

In the Grey, the filming and the movie release

The production is by Black Bear Pictures and Yellow Camel Studios. Filming began in September 2023 in Tenerife in the Canary Islands and concluded in October 2023. As locations were chosen the Real Casino de Tenerife in Plaza de la Candelaria, Andrés, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the fishermen’s dock and the areas of Las Teresitas beach, with some chase scenes through the village. The movie comes out in American theaters on May 15, 2026.
