Antoine Fuqua is the director. How does he interact with the actors?
Antoine Fuqua is an incredibly motivating and compassionate director, an actor's dream. I booked the role two days before needing to be on set, never meeting the other actors playing towns people. But Antoine understands the importance of character connectivity to create great films. The first scene we all shot together was a meeting in the church. Antoine provided space and time for us to rehearse and figure out what our relationships to each other. He knew it was setting up the character's relationships for the rest of the film.
