FanVestor, the new platform where fans invest in talent: the interview
Larry Namer is the COO of FanVestor
How does the mechanism work, and what does the fan investor earn?
The main business focus of FanVestor is to allow fans to invest in their favorite talent brands, much like buying a stock of their favorite company. The fans get to be closer to their idols and vice-versa. I think the best example of this is how the US football team, the Green Bay Packers, listed the team on the Stock Exchange. The fans of the team own a small piece of the team and are incredibly loyal. While making a profit (or losing money) is certainly something that may be realized, to many of these fan/owners, the bragging rights and certificate on the wall can be more important in demonstrating their true loyalty to their team.
